Practical information

FOR PRESENTERS

All rooms at the Poznań Congress Center (PCC) will be equipped with Windows laptops (with MS Office installed) and projectors/screens. We strongly recommend using PCC’s laptops. Please place your presentation on the local laptop at the latest during the coffee break before your session. Make absolutely sure the file name starts with the number of your presentation, followed by the surname of the first author (e.g. 245 Smith). Please help us by studiously avoiding ambiguous unhelpful file names such as “Poznan presentation” or “ICL 24”.

While we will not enforce this, the screens are widescreen at an aspect ratio of 16:9, and this is the optimum format for your presentation.

The maximum size of the posters will be A0 portrait (i.e. vertical, 841 by 1190 mm). Strong magnets will be provided to affix your poster to the board. You can install your poster during the lunch break on the day to which your poster is assigned.

Travel

By train/road

Poznań is located about half way between Warsaw (280 km) and Berlin (240 km), and there are good, frequent rail connections between those two cities and Poznań.
Check your connections using the timetables of the Polish Railways [https://rozklad-pkp.pl/] (for connections from Poznań, please select the main station, Poznań Główny, if requested; the station to select in Warsaw is Warszawa Centralna; in Berlin, Hauptbahnhof or Ostbahnhof). By Air

Poznań's Ławica airport has frequent daily connections with Warsaw (LOT Polish Airlines), as well as Munich and Frankfurt (LOT and Lufthansa) and Copenhagen (SAS).
Poznań is also served by low-cost carrirers, Wizzair (e.g. London Luton) and Ryanair (e.g. London Stansted, Barcelona Girona, Budapest, Milan Bergamo, Rome Ciampino, Stockholm Arlanda etc.).

Money
The złoty (abbreviated PLN or zł) is the official currency in Poland. The approximate average exchange rate (07 Jul 2023) is 4.49 złoties to a Euro (or 4.12 złoties to a US Dollar).

Electricity
Polish sockets are standard European sockets, with a voltage of 230 V/50Hz. All visitors coming from countries using appliances/plugs that do not work with such sockets/voltages (especially American and British guests) are advised to bring adapters.

Telephones
All European mobiles will work without problems, and European Union users will be able to take advantage of their home rates rather than roaming. High speed internet is available throughout the urban area but charges may apply for visitors from outside the European Union; please check with your operator to avoid unexpected costs.

Weather
